Greetings Marine!

The STARFLEET Marine Corps is a group affiliated with STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association Inc. The SFMC is considered an office under the Vice Commander, STARFLEET and as such reports to Vice Commander, STARFLEET. Fictionally, the SFMC is part of the Ground Forces that are rarely seen in the episodes but are assumed to be a part of the Naval Fleet of the United Federation of Planets. We are members of STARFLEET. The Corps does not have different requirements for membership, except that a STARFLEET Marine must be a member in good standing in STARFLEET. Although it does have a different name for each rank within the promotional system, and a different organizational structure than the Naval portion of STARFLEET, STARFLEET Marines are regular, dues paying members. Some STARFLEET members are Marine Reserve. These are members who are active in the naval portion of the Fleet AND with the Ground Forces area as well. Occasionally you may find a STARFLEET Marine who is or was active military, but this is not a requirement to be in the Corps.

State of FORCECOM January 2012

Greetings from the Office of Forces Command at SFMC HQ,

First off I would like to thank Colonel Jari James my Deputy for the outstanding work she did while I was away visiting various parts for 11th Brigade, It was nice to get away, it would be been nice if the
transporters were working then the trip would down to 11th Brigade would not have taken so long.

I would like to remind all the Marines that have participated in the Commandants Campaign to report it to your Unit OIC so they can add it to their Unit reports which are due to be sent in by the 1st of Feb,but as always reports can be sent in early. Since it is the beginning of the year, and in the next couple of months the Summit / Muster season will be upon us, I would encourage all marines to log into the database and check their awards and thento get their ribbon bars upto date for their Summit/Muster.

I would also like to encourage Marines to participate in the SFMC Reading Challenge and if your Brigade has a Physical Challenge to participate in that as well

I would encourage all Brigade OIC's or their representative to post this email on their Brigade Listserv.

Well until next time
Be safe out there
