Greetings Marine!

The STARFLEET Marine Corps is a group affiliated with STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association Inc. The SFMC is considered an office under the Vice Commander, STARFLEET and as such reports to Vice Commander, STARFLEET. Fictionally, the SFMC is part of the Ground Forces that are rarely seen in the episodes but are assumed to be a part of the Naval Fleet of the United Federation of Planets. We are members of STARFLEET. The Corps does not have different requirements for membership, except that a STARFLEET Marine must be a member in good standing in STARFLEET. Although it does have a different name for each rank within the promotional system, and a different organizational structure than the Naval portion of STARFLEET, STARFLEET Marines are regular, dues paying members. Some STARFLEET members are Marine Reserve. These are members who are active in the naval portion of the Fleet AND with the Ground Forces area as well. Occasionally you may find a STARFLEET Marine who is or was active military, but this is not a requirement to be in the Corps.

State of INFOCOM November 2012

I hope everyone has had an awesome Thanksgiving holiday!

November has had quite a bit of a stir with us in INFOCOM. Not only have we rolled out the new SFMC Website, but we've also been but-fixing and spot-checking a lot of the new scripts we've been working with. On top of that, I have been personally working on the awards nomination forms as well as a FORCECOM Form to allow for the new units to make a unit activation request, as well as have one for the unit re-activations. The scope of that project has been rather staggering for me, and it has been a challenge. I enjoy challenges, so that makes it good!

While we wind 2012 down in the next few weeks, I thought I'd touch subject on a few things. INFOCOM has been managing all the documentation for SFMC for the last few years. This includes TRACOM Manuals and the Marine Force Manual. Going into 2013, we will be implementing a new system to ensure that *ALL* manuals conform to the same system, our job description matches the requirements for what we do today and in the future, and make absolute certain that our documentation can be modified and edited by future G3's. This is going to be a collaborative work of all of us in INFOCOM as well as the General Staff.

We have one last issue of AOD!E to roll out, which we intend to release to the public before INFOCOM Closes office on the 20th December 2012 until the next year begins. We need submissions. The more submissions we have outside the GS, the more *complete* the issue becomes. We're not just looking for "After Action" reports, but we're also looking for fanfic stories centered around the STARFLEET Marines, or STARFLEET in general. If your chapter/unit has been to a convention, and you want to display the effects of the convention, send us an after action report! If your chapter/unit participated in a charity event and you want all of STARFLEET to hear about it, send us an after action report!! If you have written a piece of fan fiction that revolves around STARFLEET or STARFLEET Marine Corps, send your submission to us!

Submissions can be emailed to either myself ( or to the AOD Submission system ( In 2013 We will be debuting a brand-new submission system that will allow us far more freedom as to how submissions are provided, rather than rely on *ONE* way only.
The holiday season is upon us all. That means that INFOCOM will be hard-at-work to catch up on any unfinished business so we can start 2013 off on the right foot!

As always, if anyone has questions or concerns about anything within INFOCOM or on our websites, please do not hesitate to contact me at

Happy Holidays folks!
