Sunday, 13 March 2011 13:00
Greetings Marines and welcome to yet another episode of as the Training and Doctrine Command Turns.

Arrivals:
So far this month we have already had four new arrivals to the TRACOM Staff. Please help me in welcoming the following Marines:

Colonel Marcus Easterly is taking over the Officer Development School.First Lieutenant Michael Krogh is taking over the Maritime Operations School. Lieutenant Colonel Shane Russell is taking over the Clerk post in the TRACOM ADC Office. Finally, Colonel Brian Pickett has joined the Research and Development team. This gives us an almost complete staff, or would were it not for...

Departures:
James “Fireball” Maarsingh is taking advantage of professional opportunities that have presented themselves to him in the real world which, unfortunately, leave him without the time to continue as TRACOM SGM and Director of the NCO School. While we are sorry to see him step to a less active role in TRACOM, we are thrilled for him that he is advancing in his real world career. HOORAH Fireball!! Also, with much regret, I have decided to step away from the Armor Branch Directorship. I have enjoyed working with the students of the Armor School, but it is time for me to entrust it to other hands. Which leads us to...

Ongoing:
The TRACOM HQ program which will not only ensure that the SFMCA courses offered are up to date, but also that HQ has adequate and complete copies of all SFMCA materials on hand in a secondary storage site is under way. Research and Development Group have been doing good work laying a basis for new development of goodies for the SFMC in the future. I have great confidence that they will be producing some awesome tech goodies for us to use soon.

The SFMCA serviced 244 requests for exams and 188 requests for grades in the month of February. These are huge numbers for the shortest month of the year. This sort of a turnout in a month lets us know that marines appreciate the efforts to which our Branch Directors go in maintaining and servicing their schools. Thank you for that.

Until next month...

COTRACOM
Greetings to all Marines and students of the SFMCA

Unlike INFOCOM, we have no gremlins at TRACOM that I can lay any excuse to for a late report - but I will blame everyone else that I can starting with the DCOTRACOM for keeping me from my administrative duties with other distractions of late! But it is all to the good and the past few weeks have been spent working through as many issues, plans and projects we have been able to in precipitation of the outcomes of the election and possibility of a new GS.
